Dating Violence Training

Violence in society is rising at an all time high in the United States as well as other areas of the world. Our violence is, many times, within our own homes with family members. Often the public sees a completely different person than the one family members have to endure at home. The spouses and children of this abuse suffer horrific emotional extremes while surviving the "sometimes" intense rage of these abuses.
Workplace violence was mostly ignored for many years until the infamous postal incidents. Now it appears to be everywhere and some people actually go to work in fear for their safety.
Violence is too much a part of society while Domestic Violence is the most prevelant type. Substance Abuse has played a role in most violence. Although the correlation between the two have been known and documented for many years, seldom does a person being seen for substance abuse receive assessment services related to spouse abuse, while victims of domestic abuse are seldom screened for substance abuse. Women are the primary victims. Policy change can only occur with public voice.
