Parenting Classes

McPherson Training concepts offers two parenting classes.

Divorce Parenting Class

The Parent Education and Family Stabilization Course is designed to help educate, train, assist, and focus parents on the effects of divorce on their children and the importance of co-parenting.

McPherson Counseling Services, Inc is approved by the Department of Children and Families Family Safety Program Office in Tallahassee, FL to provide the Parent Education and Family Stabilization Course to the citizens of the Fourth Judicial Circuit Court of Florida. This Course will last a minimum of four hours and utilize lecture, discussion, flip charts, and role play as teaching methods. It will be held on the first and third Saturday of each month.

Participants must sign-up prior to the class. This course is self pay and will cost each individual $45.00, paid by cash or money order. NOW ACCEPTING VISA, MASTERCARD, AND DISCOVER. Each individual will receive a booklet of everything taught in the course and upon completion, each graduate will receive a completion certificate.

Assertive Parenting Class

The Assertive Parenting Program is a nine week psycho-educational workshop style class. It is designed to help parents meet the unique needs of their children in our challenging society including, but not limited to; Alcohol and/or other Drug Addictions and prevention, school dropout prevention, child development, character building, providing discipline, modeling appropriate behavior, child safety education including gun and internet safety, and behavior modification.

The Assertive Parenting Program will meet each Tuesday from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm for 9 weeks.

This Course will utilize lecture, discussion, flip charts, homework assignments, and/or written exams as teaching methods.

Upon successful completion participants will receive a Certificate of Completion to mark their graduation from the Assertive Parenting Program. Participants who show outstanding progress of improved abilities to parent will receive a Certificate of Excellence.      

Individual participant files will be kept on site and feedback information will be sent weekly to advise the referral source of their attendance and progress in the program.
