MTC Grief Focus on Recovery

Grief is often unnoticed due to it being expressed as other feelings. Grief can be disguised as anger, isolation, resentment and host of other emotions and behaviors. The grieving process can last many years and be accompanied by physical ailments due to self deception of reality and non acceptance of life terms. With counseling the process can be much shorter, less painful, and most of all, you can make it a meaningful and positive personal growth experience.

Seven steps of the grieving process:

  • Shock
  • Denial
  • Emotion
  • Depression
  • Despair
  • Un-Building
  • Acceptance
